Collections from Around the World

Shelley - Australia

I think I got into collecting Wonder Woman by collecting WW clothing without realising it. I have always liked strong female characters and you can't get a much stronger and more positive female image then WW. The clothing collection would have started probably about 2-3 years ago. The rest of the collection started when I got an E-bay account in mid 2009 and realised how much WW stuff was actually out there and how collectible she was. Sites like this one and 'Experience the Wonder' helped me find my way through the maze of stuff and know reasonable prices. I wish there was more stuff in Australia, as it's the postage that is the hardest thing about collecting an icon that is mainly in America.

Favorite items: My collection (besides the clothing side of it) is mainly statues and dolls with a few other things thrown in. My favourite pieces would have to be the 1:4 Scale Museum Quality Statue, because of her sheer size and quality, the Mego Dolls, because they have survived 30 odd years of play and I'm always trying to find the little bits and pieces that go with them and the Deluxe Roller Skates, because and I like the fact that a child used them in the 70s and they just show how popular her image is. I would love to get the Wonder Woman vs. Superman Statue and the two Ceramic Cookie Jars.

Best thing recently about collecting WW has been meeting Kyall, the creator of this site and finding out he lives nearby and being able to share our passion for the Amazon Princess with a like minded individual.
