Lynda Carter starred as Wonder Woman in the Warner Bros television series which ran from 1975 to 1979. Despite the fact Lynda Carter introduced Wonder Woman to millions of people worldwide who didn't read comic books, most collectors agree there was not enough memorabilia produced featuring Lynda Carter's image.
Pete Marston, son of Wonder Woman's creator, William Moulton Marston, and fellow Wonder Woman collector, recently stated that Lynda Carter "put more magic into the world of Wonder Woman than any other person on earth, with the exception of her creator".
There have been many rumors over the years that Lynda Carter actually collects Wonder Woman memorabilia, but these have never been confirmed by Lynda herself. In several television interviews conducted in Lynda's home she has shown various pieces of her original costume, as well as original bracelets and lasso. In one interview you can see that Lynda owns one of the elusive Wonder Woman telephones from 1979 which is on display in her home. Click here to see screen grabs and watch videos.
DC Direct teamed up with Lynda in 2007 to produce the first official Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman statue, and in 2010 for the Lynda as Wonder Woman bust. Both costumes feature Lynda wearing the design from "The New Adventures of Wonder Woman" also known as the "CBS costume". Collectors are hoping DC Direct will produce another statue featuring Lynda wearing the costume from the first season of Wonder Woman, also known as the "ABC costume".
